Beside watching the Super Bowl on Feb. 1st, many people always look forward to the TV commercials. Which they vote on, talk about the next day at the water cooler and so on. Don’t fall for this advertising strategy for selling dog food
The sad part is this year a certain dog food companythat makes (Pedigree) will be trying to pull at the heart strings of people by using “The Pedigree Adoption Drive”. Supporting your local animals shelters is a good thing, buying a dog food because you watched a commercial that played on your emotions is not.
You should buy your pet food and treats based on the quality of ingredients not emotion. The Super Bowl commercial is sure to tug on the hearts of people, that is the whole idea behind it. If you feel compelled to help the poor needy animals in shelters make a donation to your local animal shelter or visit and adopt one and really make a difference in a pets life.
This is just a new way pet food companies will use to deceive people, more will jump on the band wagon…Don’t fall for it.
The Wall Street Journal reports Pedigree is trying a ‘trick’ used by many other big advertisers. Rather than a direct sales commercial pitching it’s dog food, WSJ reports that Pedigree’s Super Bowl commercial will be pushing a cause instead; pet adoption. “The advertising strategy of promoting a cause instead of peddling one’s wares more directly in tough times — especially in such a fiercely competitive product category — could fall short.” Read the full article here:

These are just a few, when choosing your pet’s food don’t fall for every commercial you see on TV with cute little puppies or the sad and pitiful animals in shelters.
My point is why would anyone put their trust in this kind of track record. The money that it takes to run ads durning the Super Bowl is very costly. They could give that money to the shelters instead of trying to captialize on heart felt emotions in my opinion.
The quality and freshness of ingredients, where the products are manufactured, how long they are stored before they are sold on the market makes a huge difference.
